would the president come out today and hold this news conference if he didn't have something big to announce? >> reporter: well, i think it may be a matter of using the bully pulpit of the presidency of the united states, essentially putting publish pressure on lawmakers so come back to the bargaining table with some serious ideas that they're willing to give a bit to find a deal. and so it's the president being able to -- the power of the presidency being able to take his case directly to the american public to say here's what i want to do, here's why we have to do it, and here's why we need these other people to get in line or get on board. and so we will see if it helps to make his case or whether it causes the respective constituencies to say well, that's just wrong, we're not going to do that, and whether it, you know, extends the impasse or whether it leads to an ultimate breakthrough. it's not clear at this point. >> and there is the bully pulpit that mike was referring to. mike emanuel, thank you very much, we'll see you after the president speaks. again, we're waiting fo

's the big question, right? >> looking at the influence of the freshmen today, in general they believe and have very involved local voters to back them up that they were elected in 2010 with a mission to, reign in big government, specifically big government spending, and this debt ceiling debate fits right into that. here's more from one freshman tea partier. >> it would allow the debt ceiling to go up, but only if we had significant cuts, statutory caps and balanced budget amendment and there's a growing movement with that. we met with leadership, we met with majority leader eric cantor and were trying to impress upon them that we need to be for something as republicans, we need to define what we're for. >> senator paul says this is a fight, quote, too important to give up. jon. jon: what kind of influence do the new members have, though? >> well, republicans are in the minority and the senate, so less there, but in the house they're in the majority and tea partiers, or those who agree with the tea party on fiscal issues, among the 87 how freshmen have not been shy about staking their

to be factored in as one big lie, the judge disagreed, jon. >> and the state also wants money from casey anthony when this is all over, right? >> hundreds of hundreds of thousands of dollars is my estimate is what could be levied against casey anthony, not only the cost for the six-month investigation, the searching, the following up of leaders, the interviewing, the trying to track down all of these imaginary people, plus the prosecution which has been quite costly over the past 2 1/2 to three years as they had to pay for a lot of lab tests, a lot of investigators, so the judge is going to rule on that financial burden that casey anthony is likely to be levied in about 30 days from now, and for the moment, though, bottom line, casey anthony is heading back to the orange county jail. jon: a lot of people thought the saga could effectively end today. it goes on. phil keating, from orlando, thanks. alisyn: fox news is america's election headquarters, congresswoman michelle bachmann is stepping up her campaign for president, releasing a new television ad in iowa today, the minnesota congresswoman u
, the big question is whether or not his defense attorneys will actually ask for this case and the charges to be dropped, and what the judge will say about that, or, if there's some other reason for them to meet. you know what, what we're learning is there are details that have come out about the accuser in this case, and her past, that even had the prosecution now asking questions about this woman. questions that this trial could hinge on, because she is their witness. the only way that they can really press sexual assault charges against dominic strauss-kahn is with her testimony, convincingly, so it has been said, by prosecutors up until now. will defense attorneys for dominic strauss-kahn then ask this judge to dismiss the charges based on the fact that the prosecution may or may not have enough evidence to go forward. we're watching this, that meeting is coming up, those manhattan prosecutors and defense lawyers, meeting in an office. as soon as we know what -- what has happened, we'll bring it to tower office. this is big news, this man lost his job behind the sexual assault charges

the verdict is in eventually, of course that is the big question, how soon that is going to come, afterwards the jurors who do want to participate in a public press conference, they will, and here is the room, this is a live feed from the axillary room. this was the overflow room during the trial, because every seat was always taken up every day of the six-week trial. this is where people from the media would go in there and watch the direct feed from the courtroom. it's now been converted to the jury post verdict news conference room. you can see the 12 jurors will know their seats by the placard, and whether they all show up or just half of them do, we don't know yet. that will be up to them. but it certainly will be a riveting and intriguing post-verdict news conference to find out how this jury comes to the conclusion that they are right now trying to come to. jon: if they come to one, let's hope it's not a hung jury. you showed us that video a minute ago of casey in court this morning, very animated, chatting with her attorney, but she also, i know, had an interesting reaction during cl
, and we quit doing all kinds of big spending programs and so forth. look, they talk about being able to bring the economy back in line, but their idea is to get more taxes so that they can spend it. and i guarantee you, the democrats will spend every dime of it. they're not going to conserve. that's why we have to hold the line on no tax increases, and we've got to get the spending cuts in order to send the message out. if we have spending cuts, i think the market and everybody else will start saying hallelujah, we're going to come out of this and do very well. gregg: senator, one more question, the club for growth, a progrowth, low taxes group, is now targeting you. in fact, they point to your lifetime rating at 74 percent, placing you at the bottom of republicans serving. are you the next republican in trouble with your own party? >> well, i'm surprised that they'd blow their money trying to take me down, because their own people have voted -- their leader voted for, you know, for increasing the debt ceiling and a lot of the things they're accusing me of. but i don't know where the
the capacity of their stomach, and their stomachs get massive. even though they're not that big because their bodies are sort of designed for big storage, they do have major health problems down the road. i mean, most people that are overweight will at some point develop diabetes, go on ten medications, need joint replacements and be stents, and these are all things we pay for even though we're kind of amused by it in childhood. molly: thank you so much, dr. marty, for weighing in on this wild yearly competition. it's in its 96th year. thank you, doctor. >> thanks, molly. jon: a fox news alert and score one for the good guys on this fourth of july. mexican police say they have arrested the co-founder of the someday thats -- zetsa drug cartel wanted for the murders of those two american agents killed in that ambush in mexico. investigators have arrested aguilar, a $5 million bounty had been on his head, and he is now under arrest. we'll have me more information for you in if just a bit on "happening now." really? 25 grams of protein. what do we have? all four of us, together? 24. he's lo
